Small batch coffee featuring local history and gift-quality designs
We work with a local, independent craft roaster who prepares our beans to order in small batches. Our roaster buys only high quality beans from around the world. He is a patient, demanding expert in the roasting process and would not sell to us if he did not know we were serving and selling his coffee fresh!
The mission of The Hogansville Coffee Company is to make available top quality, locally sourced coffee to the great people of Hogansville, Georgia. Even a small town can have access to great coffee, and it can be priced competitively for everyday drinking.
With our gift-quality packaging and attractive designs, we also aim to provide quality, attractive Hogansville-themed gifts for those occassions when a pound of good coffee is just the thing. From our used bookstore in Hogansville, GA, we sell Hogansville Coffee by the pound. We offer light, medium, and dark varieties, plus a Swiss Water Process decaf.
Hummingbird is our light roast, perfect for people who love a smooth, easy, traditional coffee taste. Make it robust, though, and it packs a punch if you want it to! Named after our annual fall festival. Made from a single Guatemalen bean variety chosen by our roaster for its smooth taste. It's low-oil qualities make it perfect for espresso, with a beautiful crema. Also makes the smoothest cold-brewed iced coffee you've ever had.
1853 is our medium roast, a delicious blend of four different coffee beans, creating a robust but unbelievably smooth flavor, somewhere between the light and dark ends of the spectrum. Very smooth if brewed relatively light, but a stronger brew brings more of the bold acidity to the fore. Our most complex coffee. The name 1853 commemorates the year the railroad first came to Hogansville, stopping at the historic train depot which still stands.
Royal is our dark roast, a special blend of two dark roasted coffee beans. A bold taste with no sacrifice of smooth flavor. Never over-roasted, never bitter, stays fresh longer than other dark roasts. Co-owner Dan's favorite Hogansville Coffee variety. Named after Hogansville's downtown art deco treasure, the Royal Theater.
Tower Trail is our gourmet decaf, roasted locally from top quality Swiss Water Process decaffeinated beans (avoids the chemicals used in other decaffeination processes). If you have not tried our Tower Trail decaf, you are missing out. Even hardcore coffee snobs recognize the authentic, robust dark-roast taste. You won't know from the taste that the caffeine is missing! Named after our downtown walking trail, which features an old and mysterious tower that looks like a castle turret.
We love our neighbors at the only full-service coffee shop in Hogansville, Station Coffeehouse. It's in the historic train depot, only two doors down from our bookstore in downtown Hogansville. You will find us there often buying a mug of drip coffee, enjoying an Americano from their espresso maker, or enjoying a latte with one of those fancy designs in the foam. They are doing it right. They are the real deal. They are carrying some great beans, and you should support them too! Oh, and how cool is this? Station Coffeehouse is a non-profit, existing for the benefit of the local community.
